I identified with what you said about loneliness being equated with emptiness. I have also known rich depths of my own aloneness—not necessarily in reflective journaling, but in silence as friend rather than something to be filled.

Reading your piece reminded me of something that I have often depended on in such times: becoming lost in other people's spiritual rituals. Whether I watch a Sufi whirling ritual, listen to Gregorian chants, or read Buddhist mindfulness rituals—each ritual provides a window into a human heart that feels so much my own. It reminds me that I am never alone in spirit even when I am alone in body. There are billions of others on their own holy journeys.

Thank you for this poignant reminder that isolation can be a refuge. I am deeply grateful for the peace your writing provides.
